I have been trying to find a way to
start this post all week. It turns out that writing this is going to be one of
the hardest parts about graduating and having to leave Rhode Island. There are
some old favorites, that my friends and I have been going to many times over
the last four years, along with so many new favorites that we discovered more
recently. I hate to think I have to say goodbye to all of the delicious
restaurants I have discovered over the last four years with my friends. So
instead of saying goodbye, because that is too permanent, I am going to write a
tribute blog for them and just say see you later.

Viva Mexico: This literally was the first restaurant in
Providence that I went to and I have loved it so much for the last four years.
They have amazing enchiladas and quesadillas, really everything on the menu is
amazingly delicious. But better than the food, in my opinion, is the drinks.
They have a drink called “Viva la Margarita” and it is a double margarita, any
flavor you like, served in a Patron bottle. This restaurant just has such a fun
and enjoyable atmosphere, and along with great food and drinks, my friends and
I have gone back very often. This week we took our final trip there together,
as undergraduate students.

Friskie Fries: It wasn’t until my junior year, when I was studying
abroad in Spain, that I found out about this amazing place. In that year and a
half, I have gone here many, many, many times. If you don’t know, Friskie Fries
specializes in creating buckets of French fries with all sorts of different
topping combinations. I have tried almost everything on the menu and they are
all amazing. Saying that, however, I do have favorites: “Dirty Daug” and “Miss
Potato Head”. This place is a great joint to stop at and get a snack when you
are walking through downtown Providence. They even have desert French fries, if
you are in the mood for something sweeter.

Tricycle Ice Cream: Now, I know what you are probably thinking… Why is
she talking about an ice cream shop if she is lactose intolerant? Well, let me
answer that for you: Sometimes you just NEED the dairy. Okay, now that that is
all settled, I will go on about how cool this place is. This shop makes
specialty ice cream sandwiches and ice cream tacos that are out of this world.
My friends and I came across this marvelous place late in our final semester of
school and I really wish we had found it sooner!

Knead Doughnuts: MY ALL TIME FAVORITE DONUT SHOP IN RHODE ISLAND!
This might be the place I miss the most out of all of these restaurants. Their
locations have such a welcoming energy and their so aesthetically pleasing that
you never want to leave. The people who work there are always so kind. On top
of these, their donuts are FABULOUS! They put modern twists on classic donuts,
like their Sour Cream Old Fashioned (a personal favorite), Chocolate Chip Old
Fashioned, or the Chocolate Coffee Cake. They put their own takes on the
brioche donuts, with flavors like Maple Sea Salt (bring it back please!) and
passion fruit, and even make amazing filled donuts, with a super fun Peanut
Butter & Jelly filled! There is an elegant simplicity about their donuts
that definitely works in their favor and makes them the best.

Rebelle Artisan Bagels: Unfortunately, I have never taken
a picture of an actual bagel that I have eaten from here, but take my word for
it—they’re amazing! They have so many different flavors and all bagels are made
fresh each day. This place makes a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich that
is out of this world. They sell coffee from one of the best coffee shops in New
England here: The Nitro Bar nitro
coffee, which makes me love this place even more.
Tallulah’s Taqueria: The tacos, burritos, and bowls from this place are
just in a league of their own. I have had a few different types of filling
here: the chicken, carnitas, and the steak. Everything is so good, I can’t
choose a favorite. Normally, I am a big taco fan and will choose those over a
burrito or a bowl any day. At Tallulah’s, their burritos are so amazing, I
can’t help but order one almost every time.

| Like No Udder, Soft serve with Toasted Coconut |
Like No Udder: VEGAN ICE CREAM!! Everything in this ice cream shop
is vegan. They have so many hard serve flavors, they’re all delicious you can’t
go wrong with whatever flavor you pick. My favorite part about this ice cream
shop is that they make vegan soft serve ice cream. Soft serve is the best type
of ice cream (IMO) and so the fact that they have this is just amazing. PSA:
they also have toasted coconut as a topping option!!! Put it on everything!!

| Geoff's Superlative Sandwiches |
Geoff’s Superlative Sandwiches: If you ever are in need of a
sandwich, but aren’t sure exactly what you want, this place DEFINITELY has it.
When you walk in, the whole entire wall—from top to bottom—is the menu. They
have so many different types of sandwiches, all sorts of combinations, ones you
wouldn’t even think of. Each sandwich, at least the ones that I have had, are
all perfect and the flavors work so well together. If I could have one of these
sandwiches every day, I would.
The Black Sheep: RUM BUCKETS! That’s all. Actually though, this bar
is really cool. They have food and stuff but my friends and I really only went
for the rum buckets.
